Vishal's launch as a hero in Chellame happened through A.R. Gandhikrishna and his subsequent releases were also directed by experienced directors. Malaikottai was directed by Bhoopathi Pandian and Thamirabharani by Hari. Though he is happy with his earlier films' success, Vishal is quite clear about the success ingredient and a director’s contribution to the production. “It does not matter who directs a film so long as the subject is good,” he says. In fact, he feels that his last release Sathyam’s debacle at the box office was not the director’s fault. “Rajasekar gave his best,” he opines.
Vishal’s upcoming Thoranai is directed by newcomer Sabha Iyappan and his next Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai will be by Thiru. “I am happy to introduce new talent to the industry,” reveals this action hero. Whatever the reason, Vishal is absolutely happy and comfortable to team up with new directors.
