Govt to implement loan scheme to farmers

May 19 : Karnataka Cooperatives Minister Laxman Savadi today said the state government would implement the scheme of providing loan to farmers at a concessional rate of three per cent from national banks from June one this year as announced in the budget.

Talking to repoters here, he said farmers would be able to get loans upto Rs 50,000 from the banks.

Stating that a gazette had been issued in this regard, he said the government would soon issue a separate Order for extending the loan facility from cooperatives institutions.

The government had provided loans to the tune of Rs 2,800 crore from cooperatives last year and this year the amount would be increased by Rs 700 crore, Mr Savadi
